Born on January 6, 2015, Delta’s path to service began at just one year old at Lackland Air Force Base. She was a standout from the start—mastering basic obedience with ease before moving into the high-stakes world of Phase Two: Combat Tracker training. Whether it was ground scenting, air tracking, or remaining steady under the thunder of gunfire, Delta proved she was elite, passing with flying colors.
At age two, Delta officially joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as the eyes and ears for her fellow Marines. However, after a year and a half of dedicated service, she began to show signs of lameness. Diagnosed with severe immune-mediated arthritis in all her joints, this brave warrior was medically discharged.
But her story didn’t end there. In 2019, Delta found her "forever platoon" when she was adopted by the Kelley family, trading her harness for a life of comfort and well-deserved rest. Though she passed on August 7, 2020, her legacy was honored with full military honors on October 3, 2020, at the Michigan War Dog Memorial.
Delta, you were a tracker, a Marine, and a beloved family member. Semper Fi, sweet girl.
